Wine Storage Temperature vs. Wine Serving Temperature

Our customer care team often gets the question: "Do I need a multi zone cooling unit to store both my red and white wine?"

Technically, if your intentions are to store your wines for proper aging and protection you can get away with one wine cooler. Red, white, and blush wines should all be stored between 50-60 degree Fahrenheit for optimal aging.

There is confusion between wine storage temperatures and wine serving temperatures, which are different. Below we've offered a few tips to assist you in choosing the best wine cooler choice for your needs.

If you choose a single zone wine cooler here are a few tips to bringing your wine to proper serving temperature quickly. Example, if you're storing both red and white wine at 55 degrees Fahrenheit and want to enjoy a bottle of each here are a few tricks to quickly and easily bringing your bottles up to the proper serving temperature. For red wines, we suggest you set up your favorite decanter and pour the bottle into it; set it aside for about 15 minutes. The simple act of pouring the chilled wine into the decanter will make a big difference. Most red wines can be thoroughly enjoyed around 65 degrees Fahrenheit.

For white wines, we suggest using a single bottle wine chiller. Our single bottle wine chillers are easy to set, simply plug into a standard outlet and place your white wine in it for 15-30 minutes. A single bottle wine chiller will rapidly bring your white wine down 10-15 degrees Fahrenheit, perfect for your enjoyment.

If you choose to skip the extra preparation steps we mentioned above, than purchasing a multi-zone wine cooler is the ideal choice. Our multi-zone wine coolers are perfect for storing red, white, and blush wines at their exact temperature ranges in individual cooling compartments. This makes serving wine in a hurry easy and mindless. Simply pull out a bottle of your favorite wine, pour, and enjoy.
